RFMW, Ltd. and NXP Semiconductors Announce Distribution Agreement for the Americas
San Jose, CA and Eindhoven, Netherlands, - January 5, 2010 - RFMW, Ltd and NXP Semiconductors today announced a distribution agreement for the Americas effective December 1, 2009. NXP is a leading manufacturer of high performance RF and microwave semiconductors. RFMW Ltd. is a specialized distributor providing customers and suppliers with focused distribution of RF and microwave components as well as specialized component-engineering support.
According to the agreement, RFMW will distribute NXP's broad portfolio of RF and Microwave Products including RF wideband transistors, RF power transistors, RF small signal FETs, RF diodes and RF amplifiers.

TT electronics Creates Integrated Sales and Marketing Team for “One-Stop Shopping” of Component Division Products
Effective January 4, TT electronics has restructured its North American sales operations to create an integrated sales and marketing team to represent the company’s component business units to its customers. The new TT electronics North American Sales Operation will be responsible for the sales and marketing of BI Technologies, IRC, Inc., OPTEK Technology, Semelab and Welwyn Components products in the Americas. “Under the new sales organization, TT electronics rep firms and distributors will be able to sell the entire range of component division products, providing our customers with ‘one-stop shopping’ for TT electronics components,” said Steve Wade, vice president of sales and marketing for TT electronics. “This unified sales structure will allow us to deliver the latest products and technologies from our business units, as well as seamlessly provide technical support and application assistance to our customers’ engineering teams.” The new TT electronics organization will include regional and distribution management, along with specific managers assigned to key accounts and markets. AWR and UMS Offer Upgraded Process Design Kits for GaAs MMIC Foundry Processes
AWR and United Monolithic Semiconductors (UMS) announced the availability of enhanced process design kits (PDKs) for the UMS PH15 and PH25 advanced gallium arsenide (GaAs) foundry processes. These enhanced PDKs enable designers to take full advantage of the industry-leading process capabilities of UMS within AWR’s 2009 Microwave Office® design suite including its latest technologies such as iNets™, AC0E™, AXIEM™, and ICED DRC. “Users of these enhanced PDKs will not only be able to fully exploit the latest features within Version 2009 of AWR’s software,” said Eric Leclerc, foundry manager of UMS. “They can also take advantage of the fact that these PDKs are now release-independent from AWR’s own software upgrade cycle.”

Melita Plc Deploys Harris Stratex Networks Solution

DoD Awards Endicott Interconnect Technologies Contract Modifications
The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded Endicott Interconnect Technologies, Inc. (EI) a $50.3 million contract modification to produce card frame assemblies for a high reliability, high performance computing application. In addition, the Company received a $15.8 million contract modification for spares in support of program sustainment.
Since the initial contract was awarded, EI has executed the research, development, and production of highly complex assemblies including HyperBGA® organic semiconductor packaging, multi-chip module assemblies, printed circuit boards, functionally-tested circuit board assemblies and engineering services in support of the program.
Agilent Technologies Recognized for Leadership in LTE and WiMAX™

New Bluetooth Test Solution from Anritsu
Anritsu Company introduced a Bluetooth low energy testing option that allows designers and manufacturers of Bluetooth products to conduct radio layer testing that is in compliance with the newly adopted Bluetooth Core Specification 4.0. With the option, engineers can use the MT8852B to complete a test script covering Bluetooth Basic Rate, Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) and low energy measurements in <15 seconds by pressing a single key, greatly simplifying production test programs.

MFG Galileo Composites Expands Capacity, Relocates
MFG Galileo Composites, a leading specialist in the design and manufacturing of composite radomes and reflectors, announced that manufacturing operations for the company have been relocated from Sparks, NV to Opp, Alabama. The new built-to-spec facility adds manufacturing capacity and processing capabilities to accommodate increased demand, as well as improving accessibility to a significant percentage of their customer base. The company will maintain a satellite office in Reno, NV where key engineering and administrative team members will continue to operate from. Cree Acquires Patent Portfolio from Daimler AG
Cree, Inc. announced that it has acquired a portfolio of patents and patent applications related to semi-insulating silicon carbide (SiC) material and power device technology from Daimler AG. The portfolio consists of approximately 20 patent families, including issued patents in the United States, Germany, Japan, and China. U.S. Patent No. 5,856,231 (‘231) titled “Process for Producing High-Resistance Silicon Carbide” is an important piece of the portfolio that relates to the manufacturing of semi-insulating SiC using vanadium doping. “We had licensed this impressive group of patents for many years and the full acquisition is a valuable addition to our already extensive intellectual property position,” said Dr. Cengiz Balkas, Cree vice president and general manager, power and RF. Dr. Vijay Balakrishna, Cree product line manager, materials, added, “Cree is already the leader in high purity semi-insulating SiC and acquiring the ‘231 patent further bolsters our IP position, especially in semi-insulating SiC achieved through vanadium doping.”
